Description
Triple Threat: Baynard Kendrick
Baynard Kendrick is a good name for book collectors to know. Although today he is virtually forgotten, he deserves to be rediscovered. The first president of the Mystery Writers of America, he was not only a mystery writer, but also an advocate for the blind and a Florida historian as well.
Collecting Robert B. Parker
Parker was a college professor who wrote his doctoral thesis on the acknowledged masters of the hard-boiled school: Dashiell Hammett, Raymond Chandler and Ross Macdonald. When he turned 40, he started his own mystery series with the Spenser novels. These were so popular and successful that the trustees of Chandler’s estate asked him to finish a novel fragment left behind by the master.
