Erle Stanley Gardner was prolific. In each year between 1931 and 1935 he had over 60 pieces printed in magazines, as well as producing several novels. The Perry Mason series was the most popular of his books, but the Doug Selby/D.A. series had a large following as well. Doug is a lot smarter than Perry Mason’s benighted opponent Hamilton (read “Ham”) Burger.
