Description

Erle Stanley Gardner’s D. A. Series

Erle Stanley Gardner was prolific. In each year between 1931 and 1935 he had over 60 pieces printed in magazines, as well as producing several novels. The Perry Mason series was the most popular of his books, but the Doug Selby/D.A. series had a large following as well. Doug is a lot smarter than Perry Mason’s benighted opponent Hamilton (read “Ham”) Burger.

The Douglas Selby/D. A. Series:
An Annotated Checklist

There was a time when these books were plentiful and inexpensive in the marketplace. That time has passed.

Books into Film

Men Without Country, a novel written by Charles Nordhoff and James Norman Hall. Passage to Marseille, with a screenplay written by Casey Robinson and Jack Moffitt, and directed by Michael Curtiz.

Collecting Casablanca: NOT a “Books into Film”

The wonderful film Casablanca was based on an unpublished, unproduced play by Murray Burnett and Joan Alison entitled “Everybody Comes to Rick’s.” So how can we write a “Books into Film” column about it? Find out. We’re sneaky.
